Many of our clients have been surprised at the value they got out of their used equipment, so don't be discouraged from selling your IT assets, even if they may seem too obsolete or too broken in your eyes.
How much value can you get from selling your used data center equipment?
The answer will depend on several different factors, including but not limited to:
Fortunately, nowadays, checking for the average market price of your used data center equipment that you are looking to sell should be fairly easy. You can simply search for similar goods on market price sites like eBay, Amazon, or even Craigslist and check the average market price for the equipment.
The process of selling your used data center assets and equipment is very simple:
Step 1: send us a list of assets (servers, hard drives, tape libraries, tape drives, storage tape media, disk arrays, network equipment, and other types of data center IT assets.)
Step 2: we'll send a quote back to you, listing our price offer for each item
Step 3: you can either negotiate or accept the offer, and once we agree on a price, you can package and ship the IT equipment to our facility. If you want, we can also arrange to pick up the assets from your data center.
Step 4: we'll securely delete the data stored within hard drives and other storage mediums. According to your preferences, we also offer physical destruction services.
Step 5: Once the data has been securely erased, you'll receive payment for your used data center equipment and data destruction certificates
We understood the importance of securely eradicating your data during the processes of selling your old data center equipment.
Depending on your needs and preferences, we may either perform secure deletion of data with the aid of state-of-the-art technologies or perform physical destruction of your storage tapes (i.e., degaussing, shredding, and so on).
We can perform the data eradication or physical destruction at our facility or your data center (on-premises), depending on your preferences. Being R2 and Rios certified, we will ensure to eliminate the risk of any of your sensitive information being compromised.
Being R2 and RIOS certified means Big Data Supply inc. has followed the best practices in the IT and electronics industry, especially regarding the treatment of old data center equipment and secure data management/deletion.
RIOS certification is an ANSI-accredited standard, certifying that a company that buying your old data center equipment is compliant with ISO:14001 (environment), ISO:9001 (quality), and OHSAS:18001 (safety).
R2 certification is rewarded only to companies that have achieved high-level responsible recycling standards.
Having your data center IT assets purchased and disposed of by R2/RIOS-certified companies like Big Data Supply Inc. assures you a secure and consistent level of service anywhere and anytime.
In most cases, any associated disposal or recycling fees are negated from the resale value of your data center equipment. Recycling fees are evaluated by the weight of the scrap commodity contained in the data center IT asset, which can vary depending on volume and value.
